With more than 17 miles running along the seashore, this Marathon course stands out as something truly spectacular. A scenic Marathon that passes through charming villages and historical landmarks.

Starting in Dingle town, Half and Full Marathon participants run west towards Ventry with stunning scenery along the long curved strand and beautiful views of it all along their course.

Spectacular Scenery

No other half marathon can match this event for breathtaking scenery and unforgettable participants experience. The route encircles Dingle peninsula and takes runners along its beautiful rugged coast where ocean views rival those from its majestic cliffs – truly an idyllic environment for runners – making this marathon Ireland's most scenic marathon.

Starting in Dingle Town (all routes may change and final approval will be needed for every route), participants will pass over Milltown Bridge, through woodlands at Burnham, along a long curved strand of Ventry's blue flag beach to Slea Head where vehicular traffic has been eliminated so runners can appreciate its stunning beauty – featuring its famous Crucifix as well as breathtaking views across South Kerry and Blasket Islands.

The route then continues through Ballyferriter, offering breathtaking views of Murreagh before ascending some challenging hills. Finally, at Dunquin there will be a complimentary bus service waiting to transport you back to Dingle.

Experienced runners have described this unique run as one of their greatest running experiences ever, making an unforgettable impression with many visiting from overseas and other parts of Ireland for this remarkable run. Along the route are friendly people, traditional skills and fascinating history — giving an overwhelming feeling that one truly stands on the brink.

The full marathon offers everything that the half does and more! Beginning in Dingle Town's scenic marina, all participants begin heading toward Ventry to Slea Head before continuing towards Dunquin where a complimentary bus awaits to bring them back to Dingle and celebrate.

The half and full marathon races begin from Dingle Town's Marina. From there, participants follow a course that heads towards Ventry and Slea Head before ending near Dunquin – it may be challenging with its hills, twists and turns; but its breathtaking scenery will ensure good spirits!

On New Years Eve, Dingle comes alive with a massive celebration, as people from across Ireland gather to welcome in 2019. There is a fantastic atmosphere as Dingle's famous Fife and Drum band parades through its streets keeping up a longstanding tradition.

For fans of Irish traditional and folk music, New Year's Eve in Dingle should not be missed. From center-piece concerts to session trails throughout the weekend and even late night festivals clubs with live music until dawn breaks over 3 nights of New Year celebrations are waiting to welcome in 2018.

The Kerryman Dingle Marathon offers an unforgettable experience as it takes place around the beautiful Dingle Peninsula and guarantees unforgettable memories! Comprised of both a Half and Full Marathon route encompassing 17 miles along or along stunningly scenic coastal paths, Dingle comes alive for this weekend-long event offering incredible atmosphere while creating lasting memories!

Crowds will witness an unforgettable spectacle as fishing vessels, pleasure boats and Fungi Boats decorate themselves with vibrant flags, buntings and banners to bring an array of color down to Dingle Pier for the blessing ceremony that dates back centuries. A ‘Must Do' Atmosphere

The Kerryman Dingle Half and Full Marathons take place every year on the beautiful Dingle Peninsula, promising an unforgettable experience. Boasting 17 miles along its breathtaking rugged coast, participants will experience stunning sights and an incredible atmosphere that is sure to linger long after they cross the finish line.

At Dingle Town Marina, both Full and Half Marathon races commence simultaneously. From here the course heads towards Ventry and onto Slea Head; passing seashore views on one side, mountain vistas on the other. On Slea Head the road is closed off from vehicular traffic providing runners an amazing natural landscape to experience first hand.

runners will pass through the charming village of Burnham and into Milltown woodlands before reaching Ventry with its breathtaking curved blue flag beach and westward route towards Dunbeg Fort and an unusual location where an intricate stone crucifixion scene has been carved into a sheer cliff face. From there they'll head on towards Slea Head itself where an incredible panorama of South Kerry and Blasket Islands awaits them.

The Half Marathon concludes near Dunquin village near Kruger's Pub where refreshments and a complimentary bus service await finishers to return them back to Dingle to continue celebrating!

The Full Marathon follows a similar route but with even more stunning sights to appreciate along its route. Once experienced, its charm will stay with you long after.
