This race raises funds for charities such as JDRF, Hope for the Warriors and American Red Cross – and recently reached its million dollar charitable gifting goal!

Course

The Allscripts Tobacco Road Marathon and Half Marathon both begin at USA Baseball/Thomas Brooks Park and offer runners a scenic, fast course with Boston qualification as a USA Track & Field certified event. Both races also utilize over 20 miles of the American Tobacco Trail (ATT), of which the full marathon covers 21 miles while 8 are included for half marathoners – its unique compacted screening surface makes this less harmful on runners than traditional pavement roads.

runners from around the globe visit Cary to participate in this race weekend and experience its breathtaking scenery and ideal running temperatures. Proceeds also support local charities like military veterans organizations and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation; RaceJoy made its inaugural offering of live GPS tracking and cheer sending to Tobacco Road Marathon/Half Marathon participants this year!

Tobacco Road offers runners an ideal course, featuring only mild inclines and declines and minimal vehicular traffic, making personal records achievable for every runner who participates. Up to 10 percent of marathon participants qualify for Boston, while less experienced runners also reap the benefits from its fast, energy-absorbing course and ideal springtime running conditions. There are few turns and finish line bells await finishers at Tobacco Road Marathon as they try for new PRs; runners also enjoy receiving a tech shirt, post-race party and plenty of perks at Tobacco Road Marathon.

Tobacco Road Marathon draws runners from around the globe for its fast, flat course and ideal running temperatures. Attributes such as a tech shirt, strong communication channels, PR bell to ring and post-race party make this event even more worthwhile. Furthermore, its relatively flat route from Thomas Park to the start of ATT (albeit an uphill climb at Thomas Park itself and some rolling hills in later miles) make this marathon particularly leg-friendly.
