Performance coaches help people take what they think is possible to a new level. Let's face it. We all have preconceived idea of what we think we can do. The problem is we underestimate ourselves. In addition, the time it will take to reach the goals that we have set for ourselves. Hiring a performance coach can help speed up the learning curve. One of the biggest mistakes I made as a marathoner was running long runs far too slow. Yes, I was consistent but every weekend I would run long and slow. So, the problem was not a lack of desire or focus. The issue was I was setting up my training in the wrong way.
Time is precious. So, if you are going to go after an athletic or entrepreneurial goal you had best learn the correct way to do it. How? Study from those that have already one what it is you are seeking to do. It helps you bypass the mistakes you have made in the past. In addition, cuts down significantly the learning curve. Performance coaches are highly effective at what they do. I serve as a performance coach here at rundreamachieve helping athletes from around the world.
What is a Performance Coach?
A performance coach is someone that has extensive background in motivation, achieving goals and have a focus on helping others. The goal of performance coaches is helping others to surpass their goals and dreams. In addition, their attention is not center-focused but on those they serve. A performance coach knows the importance of delayed gratification. We as athletes already are motivated and goal-oriented. I have also found that those focused on entrepreneurial pursuits are very similar to athletes. They are seeking to get to the next level in what they do. Average people are not visiting RunDreamAchieve.com.
The people that visit this website are goal oriented. In addition, they are seeking to take their training and racing to the next level. Are you someone who has interest in business or entrepreneurship? If so, I do have extensive background in this areas well. You are welcome to visit the about page if you would like to know more of my educational background if you wish. I have also hired performance coaches over the years as an elite athlete. The world-class fitness coaches that I have worked with helped me to eventually run 2:19:35 for the marathon. I was able to hold 5:19 per mile or 3:18 per kilometer for the 26.2 mile or 42.2 kilometer distance on that day.
How Much Do Performance Coaches Make?
Performance coaching can be a very lucrative business model. That being said, if the focus of the performance coach is to make money their heart is not in the right place. I have seen performance coaches charging over $20,000 USD per month for their expertise. Of course, this is an investment and there are some people who can handle these charges. My focus here as your fitness consultant and performance coach is not to break your bank account. Performance coaching services at RunDreamAchieve range anywhere from $27 to $147 USD per month.
I have over 30 years experience as an elite athlete. In addition, over a decade in helping people build passive income streams online as well. My main focus is fitness consultation whether individually or via groups. I work closely with individuals from around the world seeking to take their running and fitness to the next level.
In addition, have helped countless athletes set new personal bests. You can see a few of the testimonials by clicking the green button below. Yes, performance coaches can make a good living from what they do. That being said, the focus has to first be on the client. The performance coach needs to worry about what they want, second.

High performance coaches work closely with clients helping them correct leaks in their training. One of the biggest mistakes I see runners making is running too many miles or kilometers too slow. They are having issues sustaining race pace in their races and wonder why they aren't getting the results they are seeking. Again, it isn't a lack of motivation or focus. It is simply that there are leaks in the training that they are doing that need to be fixed. Would you rather run 50 miles a week and get your fitness goals or 100 miles a week and miss them? So, it isn't about the volume of mileage you are putting in as much as it is the quality of the work done.
Does that make sense? I hope so. Remember, doing long, slow easy long runs every weekend will make you an outstanding long, slow distance runner. It doesn't take skill to run slow but to run fast. There are people all over the world who can jog or run for a few minutes to several miles or kilometers. That being said, it is an art form to run fast over a long period of time. So, in order to make this a reality in your life you have to start changing the way you set up your training. I have created training plans, running courses and coach monthly to help athletes get better results by using leverage. Leverage simply means that you are working smarter and doing more with less.
How Do I Find Performance Coaches?
How many people do you know with multiple degrees that they are not even using? Do you know any highly educated people who are broke? How can someone with a GED make as much in a month as a Ph.D makes in a year? Someone is using leverage and someone else is following the path of working hard. The same goes with fitness training and performance coaching.
The good news is that you have found a performance coach in me. My goal is to impress you with my fitness and educational background. I am sure you come from a very accomplished and skilled background yourself.
My role as your fitness and business consultant is to work close with you and speed up progress. We do this by weekly zoom calls, chat functioning within the private community here and one-on-one coaching sessions. The late Jim Rohn said it best, “The Truth is reserved for the searchers”. People such as yourself seeking out performance coaching are highly driven, motivated and goal-oriented professionals.

People seek out performance coaching for various reasons. There are some people who seek out a performance coach to help them get better business results. For example, businesses hire consultants to come in and correct problems that their organizations are facing. Of course, this perhaps could be fitness related or to increase profits. So, performance coaching is used in various sectors from fitness, business to mindset. There are athletes seeking pro coaching expertise from an elite athlete who has already done something they are seeking to do.
I come from an athletic and entrepreneurial background. I have found that business is much like athletics. You need to be able to work well with teams to be great at business. That being said, you also need to be able to work hard by yourself as well in order to see great results. I highly recommend subscribing to the RunDreamAchieve YouTube channel. I create new video content each week to help athletes and non-athletes alike with their fitness goals.
Yes, it does take more work when working by yourself. The reason for this is there is no one but yourself that is going to hold you accountable for your results. You are either lukewarm or you are all in regarding success. So, you have to have a high amount of motivation and focus to achieve great results. The performance coach or consultant is there to help organizations, teams as well as individuals achieve success.
Sports Performance Coaches
Sports performance coaching is my expertise and what I know best. I have been competing for over 30 years and have helped athletes of all ability levels make considerable gains in their fitness. One of the best examples is helping one marathoner drop a full hour off of his marathon personal best. I created RunDreamAchieve back in 2011. So, I have been here creating online and video content now for over a decade online. My only regret is that I didn't start this website when the internet came into existence back in the late 90s.
Sport performance coaches works to help athletes get better results by using leverage. We all have been taught to work hard at what we do. That being said, the hardest working athletes and people in general do not always get results. Who does?
Those individuals who work closely with a consultant who can guide them to work smart. I emphasize this heavily here on the website and at the RunDreamAchieve YouTube channel. Working smarter gets better results. In addition, you are not wasting precious time and energy on areas of your preparation that will not yield results.
Why Do Athletes Need Coaches?
Athletes need coaches much like businesses need consultants and that is to ensure the highest return on your time investment. Again, it is very easy to make mistakes when you don't know what you don't know. A performance coach or fitness consultant can work daily, weekly or monthly with the individual to ensure they are using leverage. There are far too many people who have been taught to work hard.

Yes, working hard is admirable. That being said, if you work hard and are broke what have you learned? Would you rather work smart, have more time with your loved ones and earn passive income instead? Yes, there is plenty of money to be made but there is limited time. The problem I have seen with many people both athletes and non-athletes alike is they follow strategies that don't always work.
I am fascinated by entrepreneurship. The reason is it is very much like endurance sport. It is entirely up to you on how effective and efficient you want to become. It is also performance-based much like a realtor is with selling homes. An employee has a so-called “safe and secure” paycheck. The entrepreneur doesn't have a guarantee. In fact, their guarantee comes from their sweat equity much like an endurance athlete. So, athletes need coached so they can get the highest return on their time investment.
What Should I Ask My Performance Coach?
There are several questions I ask with the clients that I work with here at RunDreamAchieve…
- What are your short and long-term goals as an athlete
- What is your focus regarding entrepreneurship i.e. to make a certain amount each month online?
- Is the percentage of your weekly mileage training at or below your goal race pace to low?
- What do you think has caused you the biggest issues as an athlete or in business
- How long have you been an athlete?
- What are the strategies that have worked and not worked with you in your fitness preparation?
- How many days a week do you run?
- What is the longest long run that you normally do?
- How often do you focus on mental training?
A client needs to also ask a performance coach they hire what they can do to help them get better results. Of course, this is the overall end goal. So, performance coaches have to be approachable and available as well. In addition, they need to be client-focused and not center focused.
Closing Thoughts
I hope this post on the roles of performance coaches has been helpful to you. Are you an athlete seeking to take your race preparation to new heights?
