No matter what level your athleticism, runDisney events have something to offer everyone!

Run Into the Unknown
No matter your running skill or experience level, runDisney events offer something for you at their events in Orlando and Kissimmee, Florida, Disney World – where runners of all ages and abilities are celebrated for their accomplishments through running, jogging or walking and sunrise yoga – not to mention special medals given out upon finishing!
RunDisney events are so wildly popular that they often sell out quickly both physically and virtually. However, the in-person races provide not only an amazing way to experience The Magic of Disney while getting in your workout but are also great family activities – for instance the Walt Disney World Marathon and Half Marathon 2024 offer themes which appeal to both experienced runners as well as newcomers to long distance running – its route takes in Epcot and Disney’s Magic Kingdom among other locations at Disney World!
Past races have featured themes based around Ariel, Rapunzel and Tiana; this year is no different! Princesses not yet ready to complete 13.1 miles can participate in a special race designed just for them and another challenge combining all three races is also on offer.
The Ariel 5K features Ariel, who lives under the sea and inspires those with an appreciation of water, while Rapunzel’s Tangled Up 10K celebrates her adventurous spirit. For princesses looking to show they’re just as cool as Anna and Elsa there is also the Disney Fairytale Challenge!
No matter the details for these races are still unclear, but registration for them has begun both in-person and online. Registration begins June 13 for Club runDisney Gold and Platinum members with general registration opening on June 20. Those unable to take part can sign up for virtual races which award medals equivalent to those earned when running physically.
There are many exciting activities at Disney World, but one of the most thrilling activities is running races through its parks. These races, known as “RunDisney” events, are immensely popular; people sign up and wear tutus and tiaras! One such race, known as Princess Half Marathon takes place every Sunday morning across all four Disney theme parks – you get to meet many characters along the course; finishers receive medals, water, Powerade, snack boxes and bananas at race end!
The Disney Princess Half Marathon is an annual women’s empowerment-themed running event held during the last weekend of February by runDisney, a division of Disney Sports Enterprises, that seeks to highlight women’s health and fitness issues. First held in 2009, it has since grown immensely popular and now draws participants from across the country.
Participants at the Disney Princess Half Marathon 2024 can select from multiple distance options at this popular race: 5K, 10K and full marathon distances are all offered, with runners who complete all three races being awarded an exclusive challenge medal featuring Anna and Elsa from Frozen movies as an incentive. It is expected to sell out quickly!
Dates and registration for the Disney Princess Half Marathon 2024 will be revealed later this year, with registration opening in June for Club runDisney Gold and Platinum members (on June 13), followed by general registration (June 20). It will take place in Bay Lake, Florida and allow participants to experience all that Disney World offers!
Fairytale Finishes of Essex offers wedding decoration services designed to create the ideal atmosphere for your big day, with everything from lighted signs, dessert Ferris wheels, elegant wishing trees and complete setup services available for their products.

Registration opens today for the 2024 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend on runDisney, taking place February 22-25 at Walt Disney World Resort and virtually. Virtual events are also offered, and participants can register now for all three distances plus the Disney Fairy Tale Challenge (earning an extra medal when finishing both 10K and Half Marathon races).
The race course winds its way through Disney’s magical theme parks, including Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center and more! Most of the route is flat with some small hills for runners of all abilities to enjoy; runners will even get an up-close glimpse of Cinderella’s castle making for an extra memorable finish line experience!
Princess Half Marathon participants will receive a commemorative medal befitting royalty at the finish line and merchandise will also be for sale.
Disney Princess Weekend features more than running events; there is also a Health & Fitness Expo and Family Fun Run to enjoy! Both will take place at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. While, for families with younger children, the Family Fun Run provides an enjoyable short distance experience.
At every stop throughout the weekend, Princess characters will make appearances for photo opps and to offer support to runners – with a parade of princesses featured at the finish line ceremony!
runners can make an impactful contribution by joining Team No Kid Hungry during their race weekend. This organization raises funds to combat childhood hunger in America. Meeting their minimum fundraising requirement counts towards your race entry fee.
This race is part of the runDisney Princess Weekend at Walt Disney World Resort and features events for runners of all levels – focusing on women’s empowerment through running. Disney entertainment and exclusive medals await! Completers can earn even more prestigious medals by participating in both Fairytale Challenge (10K and Half Marathon). The Princess Half Marathon course spans 13.1 miles and passes through two Walt Disney World parks: Epcot and Magic Kingdom. The finish line for the Princess Half Marathon can be found near Spaceship Earth in Epcot; you will see many Disney characters along your journey as well as one or two bands providing live music at some points along the route.
Disney differs from most races by not revealing the exact course until 2-3 weeks before an event takes place, giving them ample time to modify it as needed and ensure runners’ safety.
The Disney Princess Half Marathon is a highly anticipated race that can fill quickly, particularly without Club runDisney Gold and Platinum membership. If you plan to register for this race, I strongly advise doing it as soon as possible to avoid missing out! Also if you aren’t staying in one of the host hotels (Magic Kingdom Resort, All-Star Sports Hotel Pop Century or Art of Animation), monorail transportation to EPCOT starts early each morning starting 2:30 am from the Disney Princess Half Marathon Expo – each ticket costs just $18.
