4 Helpful Facts to Help You Run Your Best In 2023

Helpful Tips

What are some ways you can run your best in the face of setbacks or times when your motivation is not exactly high?

1) DON'T GIVE UP: A bad race or not meeting your immediate short term goal should not dictate what you will or will not achieve in the future. Your willingness to keep going WILL make the difference. If you look at the greatest achievements in history, all were met with challenges along the way. Expect and embrace the roadblocks. If you can learn to do this, your path will not look so daunting. You have to be stubborn in a sense but staying focused on your goal is essential to getting to the finish line.

2) DO WHAT THE OTHERS ARE NOT DOING: Successful people, regardless of their expertise, are doing things others are not willing to do. They are no better than you, they are simply willing to put in longer hours. They have the willingness to spend more time on a task for a longer period of time. There is no fun in being a part of the crowd. It is easy to do what everyone else is doing but it takes persistence and a lot of heart to follow the path fewer indvidual are willing to take. Get into THAT crowd, learn what they do and I think you'll find life to be far more worthwhile.

3) SET THE EXAMPLE: You can help far more people than you may realize simply by the example you set. Someone may be inspired by your willingness to pursue a goal to completion. I don't know about you, but motivating another person and seeing them achieve something they thought they could not, is probably one of the most beautiful things in life. You may never know the impact of your actions so keep your motivation high, you may help change someone's life.

4) IF YOU DON'T TRY YOU'LL NEVER KNOW: If you have a goal that you already know is not going to be easy to attain, but are willing to make the sacrifice to achieve it, the difficulty of the task dwindles. If you don't try to attain it, if you don't put forth the effort, that goal remains fluff. A pipe dream. You will continue to have the ‘what if's” roll around in your head. It is not fun to wonder about something but working hard will leave the wonder aspect out of the equation.

Make a serious attempt at whatever goal you have, whether it be a running goal or some other pursuit. You will never know what your hard work will bring you and you certainly will never know what you can do unless you try. Keep the turtle in mind. It gets nowhere unless it sticks its neck out. I am sure you have heard the story before but it really has relevance when it comes to do anything that is challenging.
